Sino-European technology transfer forum held in Shanghai

Local technology experts discussed with their overseas counterparts about technology transfer at the Sino-European forum on technology transfer which was held in Shanghai on May 9.

The forum, co-sponsored by Caohejing Hi-Tech Park Development Corporation and the European Enterprise Service Network (EEN), had experts from Britain, Denmark, the Netherlands and Belgium, who discussed the tendency of international technology transfer and also raised advices and suggestions for construction on China’s business parks, said a senior manager from Caohejing.

Caohejing has launched a number of technology transfer projects by cooperating with multinational companies, said Lv Ming, deputy general manager of Caohejing Hi-Tech Park Development Corporation and chairman of Caohejing Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center.

The park held 12 conferences on technology transfer last year by means of its industry transfer platform, including a Sino-US investment exchange party, a Sino-Russian technology forum on the Sino-Russian-Uzbekistan business park, a Sino-Korean solar energy industry seminar and a conference on protecting overseas IPR.

“All those activities have borne fruitful results,” said Lv.

He said Caohejing applied to the State for 1,947 patents in 2012, including 1,025 invention patents and 376 invention patent authorized.

In addition, 1,139 new software copyrights were registered, exclusive rights for integrated circuit layout-design reached 73 and registered trademarks were 568.

Statistics from Caohejing have showed firms at the park had applied to the State for 9,722 patents as of 2012, including 4,663 invention patents and 1,519 invention patent authorized. Their overseas patent applications surpassed 10,000.
