Shanghai Vice Mayor Zhao Wen, accompanied by municipal government officials, inspected the State-level intellectual property rights pilot site at Caohejing Hi-Tech Park on August 1.

Present at the inspection were Gui Enliang and Han Baofu, senior managers of the park, Zhu Chenggang, deputy director of Xuhui district government, and Li Kai, director of Xuhui IPR Bureau.

Li and Han reported to Zhao respectively how things are going on at the pilot site and its plan for the next development.

“We will make every effort to push forward the project in accordance with the requirements made by the State IPR Bureau and the city government,” said Gui.

Zhao hoped the site to play a demonstration role in developing the national intellectual property services.

Lyu Guoqiang, director of Shanghai IPR Bureau, wished the site to attract more IPR service institutions with brand influence when it is completed.

“It should innovate in systems and policies if it wants to reach the objective,” said Lyu.

His words were echoed by Xiao Guiyu, deputy secretary general of Shanghai municipal government, who said the pilot site should make breakthroughs in policy and practice, playing a demonstration role in innovation.

“More IPR talents should be trained to help the site turn into an IPR center in the Asia-Pacific region,” Xiao said.
