2013-07-10 14:20

Weng Min, a boy born in 1980s, spent his 300,000 yuan ($48,387) setting up a firm rather than buy a sedan or decorate a flat.

“I want to realize my dream of entrepreneurship,” said Weng, general manager of Shanghai Lejie Network Technology Co Ltd.

Weng, who obtained a Master degree in interactive electronic communication from New York University, once worked as a producer of new media technology in the American Broadcasting Company.

Lejie, as a mobile internet company, consists of employees from media and Internet with many having background of studying abroad.

It used the social TV concept in 2010 to produce its first TV programs, including China’s Got Talent and Date on Saturday, by cooperating with well-known TV channels such as Shanghai Dragon TV and E-Channel, said Weng.

“The company has entered a new stage of development thanks to the support from the park’s entrepreneurship center in its business expansion,” he said.

It focuses its R&D on a new network platform for social interaction and plans to expand business into advertisement and games.

Lejie obtained 300,000 yuan from the city’s innovation fund in 2012 and 100,000 yuan from Xuhui entrepreneurship fund in 2013 to finance its projects at Caohejing incubation base.

“It is not easy to create a business, but I enjoy happiness from my strenuous effort,” he said.
